Test kits ordered before 12 pm CT on business days ship the same day. Orders placed after 12 pm or on weekends will ship the next business day. Kits are delivered via USPS and typically arrive within 5–7 business days.
To activate your kit, register your test by scanning the QR code included in the box. This links your sample to your Nimbus account so the lab can process it and your provider can review the results. Be sure to complete activation before collecting your sample. If you skip this step, the lab won’t be able to identify your test, and you’ll need to order a new kit.
After collecting your sample, use the prepaid UPS label included with your kit. Drop it off at a UPS location (not a drop box) to avoid delays. Samples are designed to remain stable in transit for up to 14 days, even in a range of temperatures.
Yes. Anyone in the U.S. can order and return a test kit. However, if you live in a state where Nimbus isn’t licensed, you won’t be eligible for clinical review or prescriptions.
We process samples in the United States at one of our CLIA-certified labs
Nimbus tests are classified as laboratory-developed tests (LDT). LDTs are validated by the laboratory before being used to generate laboratory results for diagnosing or treating a patient. LDTs are not subject to FDA clearance or approval. Overseeing the analytical and clinical validity, alongside clear and compliant communications of results, are CLIA and CAP. These regulatory agencies audit each of our labs twice annually. As the FDA notes, "LDTs are important to the continued development of personalized medicine." So, while they don't receive the classification of FDA-approved, they are recognized as important to innovation within the laboratory space.
Inconclusive results occur in less than 0.3% of cases based on our testing and can be caused by various factors. If this happens, we’ll send you a new test kit free of charge so you can retake the test and receive a definitive result.
